Rudy on Schiavo

In more news from the Rudy press conference, the mayor-turned-mogul was asked, of course, about Terri Schiavo.

And though it’s been assumed that he and McCain, among ’08 candidates, were keeping their mouths shut on the whole matter, Rudy did come out on the right side. Asked how he feels, in his “heart of hearts, legally and morally,” Rudy expressed his condolences to the family and said:

“If you’re asking me what I think the right decision was, my decision would have been to keep the feeding tube in under the circumstances of that case. That’s my personal view, but my heart goes out to the family. It’s a horrible situation to face, a very difficult conclusion now with her gone, and I hope God gives them the strength to deal with this and get through it.”
