NYC2012 shut down last Friday and nobody was there to hear it. (Well, except for the Washington Post–see the second item.)
There are no plans, according to spokesman Laz Benitez, to morph into a 2016 bid committee.
That’s another downtown office floor vacant and 60 more folks without jobs–well, the originator of the whole thing, Dan Doctoroff, still has one, though it doesn’t pay much. Executive director Jay Kriegel can probably return to his old job at Abernathy MacGregor, which pays quite a bit. The accountants and techies are still hanging on; they have to figure out whether this thing lost money.
