Today’s New York Times “House & Home” section lays down a lexical milestone with its lead headline about expensive, oversized boathouses: “McBoathouse Roils the Lake.” Language historians, take note–as of August 4, 2005, “McMansion” has officially become so worn out that copy editors no longer care what its separate components used to mean.
