A Spitzer Mess

Internal divisions, allegations of conflict of interest and favoritism, disgruntled former executives — usually the sort of thing Eliot Spitzer is investigating.

But The Forward has a must-read this week on Spitzer’s investigation of an Orthodox Jewish charity which includes allegations from a prominent former prosecutor, William Josephson, that Spitzer deputies impeded the prosecution, and heated counter-accusations against Josephson.

The Forward also reports that, contrary to claims from the AG’s office, the case against the organization at the heart of the story seems to have been abandoned.
