WOOD WAR XXXI

Who’s winning the battle of the front pages?

The Daily News carries on its lonesome campaign against the underemphasized scourge of cop-killing by trumpeting the revelation that cops are against cop-killing too. Thanks, Daily News!

The Post has another shambles of an over-divided front page, but the transit strike cuts through the clutter. And there’s something charming about the paper’s apparent new rule that there has to be a picture of unofficial Murdoch mascot King Kong on the front page every day. Why not go all the way and give the big ape the Alexander Hamilton/Old Glory slot on the upper left?

Winner: New York Post

Overall standings: Daily News 15, New York Post 16
