After the worst run of press Eliot has had in years, his approval ratings are still pretty stratosphereic: 64% – 18% percent, down slightly from 68% – 13% in December, in a Quinnipac University poll out today.

And that’s the relative bad news for Spitzer. His performance against Tom Suozzi has actually improved (within the margin of error) to 72% to 8%.

He also beats all the likely Republicans handily, though Golisano (56% to 25%) does somewhat better than the others.

The poll surveyed 1,095 registered voters.
