After all the chatter from Staten Island Democrats and the DCCC that New York’s sole GOP congressman, Vito Fossella, was in trouble, the November election on Staten Island isn’t looking so interesting after all.

But all the elected officials Democrats were hoping to run have begged off. And now Vito is looking forward to facing a Brooklyn lawyer, Stephen Harrison.

Generally a good week for Vito, who, I think, was the only New York Republican congressman to back John Boehner before the House Republicans started voting.
