You thought it was just a baseball team?
Allstate, which unbeknownst to us has quit selling homeowners insurance in New York City, Westchester and Long Island because we’re basically due to be wiped off the face of the earth by a hurricane, is being urged to offer it again by Congressman Vito Fossella of Bay Ridge/Staten Island, reports The Brooklyn Eagle. Other Congress folk who signed Fossella’s letter include Anthony Weiner, Major Owens, Charles Rangel, Carolyn Maloney and Eliot Engel.
Renters, though, get a break. Allstate still offers renter’s insurance, because it doesn’t cover structural damage.
