Albany Republicans seem a bit nonplused by Mike’s threat to take out one of their (diminshing) number in the State Senate, but don’t see a state of open war yet.
One well-placed GOPer grumbled that the State Senate had gone out of its way for Mike in his first term, allowing his property tax cut to go through even as other taxes went up, and over-riding Governor Pataki’s budget veto.
His take: “We did some big, heavy lifts for the Mayor in his first term, and some people around him apparently have short memories.”
[NOTE: One of the hazards of the Capitol is that there's apparently no place to get both Wi-Fi and cellphone service. So please ignore the previous, laptop-related post, made by a former colleague whose laptop I made the mistake of borrowing.]
