There was a sense, at some point during the Mayor’s race, that Democrats who worked for Mike might face retribution from their party. Not the high-profile consultants like Bill Knapp, of course, but the mid-level staffers.
But this hasn’t happened, and in fact veterans of the Bloomberg campaign are heading into good jobs with Democratic politicians. Maura Keaney, the labor operative who ran Mike’s get-out-the-vote effort, has started work as a top aide to her old boss, now City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. And Neil Giacobbi, who ran Mike’s volunteer operation, is now chief-of-staff to David Yassky, the City Council Democrat running for Congress in Brooklyn.
