ERICA: No need for cards, flowers or gifts, but today is my birthday and for the first time since I turned 30, this fact does not make me want to crawl back under my overpriced and under-laundered duvet and hide until the clock strikes twelve.

I've read all about how we're redefining a generation and that the 30's are the new 20's, but last year at this time I was wondering if Greg was ever going to pop the question, if my new fangled bridal business idea was going to strike gold or fail bigger than betamax and, in general, I was feeling miles away from where I wanted to be.

However, I'm happy to report that so far 33 is pretty swell:

Getting married: check
Business: boomin'
Life direction: loosely defined

So at this moment my birthday is actually pretty darn happy.
