More Eliot TV

Another spot from the Spitzer campaign. They pile on newspaper clippings of Spitzer triumphs (you have to admit that Post headlines look best on TV) and then a voice says, “Now just imagine what he’d do as your Governor.” Still no live Eliot; but we do get a black-and-white still with that crazy grin.

This one is running in and around New York City. The campaign’s first spot, the bleak, Fargo-esque “Voice” is said by the campaign to be running all around the state. Like others, I’d assumed “Voice” was for places where people actually live in small wooden houses amid vacant farmland. But then I saw it at the gym yesterday. Go figure.

2. The general election. In November, whichever two candidates make it out of the gubernatorial primary will face off to become the next New Jersey governor. While Phil Murphy (pictured) is the presumed favorite in the race due to current New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s dismal approval ratings tanking Republican credibility for many NJ voters, the results are still up in the air. Additionally, with 11 months until the race, there is still ample time for a dynamic shift that could leave another candidate at the top.
