The state legislature Tuesday slipped in another $33 million for Atlantic Yards in this year’s budget, bringing the total to two-thirds of what developer Forest City Ratner wants. (The Daily News has it that the bonus came from the Senate. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s spokesman, Charles “Skip” Carrier, clarified the Senate added the amount Tuesday and both chambers approved it.)
The $66 million still needs to pass muster with the Governor. But something tells us that despite his slashing and burning the rest of the legislature’s budget, this part will stay in. In fact, Pataki may even add to the pot from his discretionary funds.
