Bidding Up the Yankees

Let’s see, if the city sold every seat at Yankee Stadium at the rate they were in 2004, when 100 three-seat sections fetched $1,500 each, then New York City could earn back $28.8 million of the $164 million it will spend on the new ballpark. (On the other hand, last year’s auction for the old Busch Stadium’s detritus netted just $900,000 total.)
