Former Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez has just sold his Midtown apartment for $2.1 million, according to deed-transfer records. The two bedroom pad–which had been listing for about a year at $2.495 million–is situated on a high floor in a luxury apartment building.

Of course, the gold glove star of the ’86 Mets has attracted plenty of criticism lately after saying that women “don’t belong in the dugout” during a recent broadcast. The woman in question definitely did belong there: she’s Kelly Calabrese, a trainer for the Padres.

It should be mentioned that this sale actually closed before the recent media firestorm, and Mr. Hernandez primarily resides in Florida anyway. So he’s not fleeing just because of some bad press.

But one question remains: Who will help him move? It’s a big step in a male friendship. Like driving someone to the airport.

2. The general election. In November, whichever two candidates make it out of the gubernatorial primary will face off to become the next New Jersey governor. While Phil Murphy (pictured) is the presumed favorite in the race due to current New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s dismal approval ratings tanking Republican credibility for many NJ voters, the results are still up in the air. Additionally, with 11 months until the race, there is still ample time for a dynamic shift that could leave another candidate at the top.
