As we wait to hear back from the Weld campaign, we’re wondering what the impact of Weld’s labeling of the Ground Zero Memorial to a “hole in the ground” is going to be. It looks likely to be the day’s big story, certainly more interesting than anything coming out of the Conservative party’s (pre)convention.
Come to think of it, there hasn’t been much good news coming Weld’s way of late. There’s the whole Pataki ambivalence, and then this story in yesterday’s the Times Herald Record, via Urban Elephants, which suggests that Weld’s efforts to shore up support are backfiring.
Weld probably can’t wait for it to be next week already.
