Yassky on the Voting Rights Act

As part of their continuing theme on immigration issues, Congressional Republicans yesterday voted against renewing the Voting Rights Act, in part because of objections to provisions of the law requiring bilingual ballots.

As Azi notes, David Yassky – who has been on the receiving end of race-based arguments that his very presence in the 11th district race violates the spirit of the Voting Rights Act — already has a statement up on his website objection to the Republican objections.
