Good news for Christine Quinn: term limits don’t work.
That’s according to a report from the National Conference of State Legislatures, which — perhaps unsurprisingly — concluded that term limits didn’t do much to diversify state legislatures that kick out incumbents who serve for too long.
This may be a helpful piece of info for Quinn, who is in a tough bind over this issue.
She is trying to figure out how to please one of her constituencies (50 people to be exact) that wants it undone while not hurting her standing with the constituency (5 boroughs to be exact) which voted in favor of term limits. Twice.
