Eliot Spitzer just fielded questions from reporters at Lake George, where the main topic was still Alan Hevesi’s use of a state employee to chauffeur his wife.

I asked Spitzer, the attorney general of the state of New York, if it was “fair to say it happened on your watch.”

Spitzer: “What happened on my watch?”

Me: “His misuse of a public employee as a private chauffeur.”

Spitzer: “My watch? No.”
