Synagogue Espresso

The construction workers and volunteers who just put up a Williamsburg synagogue in time for the Jewish New Year worked 18-hour days, six days a week, stopping only for the Sabbath. They did not even break for a stop-work order that the Buildings Department imposed after a worker fell from a scaffolding, The New York Sun reports today. Hey, how else are going to put up a giant synagogue, large enough to hold “thousands,” in a mere 14 days?
