More Buck for the Bang

Here are the proposed pay increases for city officials as recommended by Mayor Bloomberg’s commission:

$225,000 for mayor (a $30,000 raise – 15.4%)
$185,000 for controller (a $25,000 raise – 15.6%)
$165,000 for public advocate (a $15,000 raise – 10%)
$190,000 for district attorney (a $40,000 raise – 26.7%)
$160,000 for borough president (a $25,000 raise – 18.5%)
$112,500 for City Council member (a $22,500 raise – 25%).

It would be the first pay increase for Council members in 7 years.

The recommendations did not say anything about raising salaries for staff.
