Here is Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum waiting to hand-deliver emails (yes, emails) to the mayor.
Gotbaum said she received the messages from parents protesting the mayor’s policy of banning cell phones in public schools. The mayor’s people ignored her, and with cameras surrounding her, Gotbaum left printouts of the emails at the front desk.

“6th graders are 11 years old! 7th graders are only 12! Isn’t it obvious why the need cell pones?”
