Via Michael Crowley at The Plank, a new Iowa poll shows Barack Obama sprinting into a tie for the lead, with John Edwards, at 22 percent. Hillary is in fourth place, behind Tom Vilsack, at 10 percent. Sure, I know this is his home state, but Vilsack?
The poll, says RealClearPolitics, “looks like Hillary Clinton’s worst nightmare.” In head-to-heads, the top three Democrats beat every Republican. Hillary loses to every Republican but Mitt Romney. The customary rebuttal to a poll like this is that it’s early, but numbers like these are definitely not going to make those electability issues go away.
On the Republican side, Rudy Giuliani is running one point behind John McCain, at 26 percent.
