Port Authority OKs Freedom Tower

The board of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey approved $500 million worth of construction contracts for the Freedom Tower on Thursday afternoon, according to a press release, following up on its agreement to take over the building late last year and Gov. Spitzer’s begrudging commitment earlier this week.
