The problem with having a vast fund-raising empire is getting tied to stories about any of those contributors.
City Hall News has a story about Marc Lasry, a major contributor for Hillary Clinton, who owns a company called Avenue Capital. One of Capital’s subsidiaries recently purchased a building on 95th Street and notified “all market rate tenants” to leave the building, according to the article.
So, was anything Capital did illegal?
Nope. The article quotes a spokesman for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo who said, “it appears as non-regulated tenants that they may not have legal recourse at this time.”
It's unclear what connection – if any- Hillary had with the story. But Lasry’s prolific fund-raising was, apparently, enough to get her into the headline.
