Brooklyn Flirting with Obama

In a potentially significant development, Vito Lopez — the leader of the city's largest party organization — is flirting with the possibility of endorsing Barack Obama for President and has scheduled a meeting with him, according to a source with first-hand knowledge of the arrangement.

Lopez, it should be noted, has a propensity for the grand gesture, and this might be one of them. A Hillary Clinton campaign source assures me that despite Lopez's conspicuous reluctance to join just about every other Democrat in New York by endorsing his home-state Senator, he will be with her, and not Obama, in the end.
