Obama on 40-Ouncers at 1199

An anonymous blogger at Democratic Grup [sic] has an account of Barack Obama’s meeting last week with 1199/SEIU union staffers and executive council members in Manhattan, where the candidate was asked what he would do about the “large unemployment problem, especially here in New York” among African-Americans.

Obama's answer, according to the blog, was that “our government failed them, but also, there seems to be too many 40-ounce bottles on the streets.”

Another example of Obama’s tough-love approach on minority issues, I guess.

If anybody else has an account this meeting, please let me know.
