Radical Departure

To the Editor:

Re “How George Bush Salvaged His Dad’s Legacy” [May 14]: What’s clear is that President Bush’s new appointees to the Supreme Court are changing the direction of women’s reproductive rights in this country. The court’s decision opens the door for further political interference in our personal and private medical decisions.

I am fearful for my future daughter and her daughters. This is a real threat to my security as a woman and to those who will come after me.

The Republican and anti-choice supporters will continue to chip away at Roe v. Wade and eventually—as I told people when Justices Alito and Roberts were appointed—Roe v. Wade will eventually be overturned. And when it does, I will no longer consider myself an American.
