Saturday, May 5th

8day halleberryv Saturday, May 5thAY, AY, AY, AY! IT’S CINCO DE MAYO and it’s a Saturday … which means the subways should be a menace by midday. But if you want to celebrate in a more kid-friendly way (what-ever), there’s a party at the Scholastic Store in Soho, where Maya & Miguel (some sort of kid-friendly twin thing we’re scared to investigate) will be involved, and there will be a live cooking demonstration with chef Elsie Ramos. ¡Bueno! Meanwhile, up in Times Square at an ungodly hour, see what our girl-crush Mandy Moore, Halle Berry and Meredith Vieira look like first thing in the morning at the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, which benefits cancer research, treatment and prevention, and is now celebrating its 10th year. Competing for the health-walk niche is the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s first-ever 5K walk (a few hours later than Revlon’s), down at the South Street Seaport. No celebrities involved that we know of, but if you raise a minimum of 100 bucks in pledges, you’ll receive a Lymphoma-thon T-shirt. We’re just sayin’ ….
