Brown-Beating

TUESDAY, JULY 10TH: With the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death fast approaching, prepare to be fully saturated in all things princess and Windsor (hey, how about that interview Matt Lauer did with Prince William and Prince Harry? Who would have thunk that’d it be Harry who would be the smokin’-hot one? And yes, we mean the one who dressed up like a Nazi. Whatever, we’re over it!). Anyway, in case you haven’t heard: That irrepressible, Botox’d elf Tina Brown has published a big slick book called The Diana Chronicles, and today she hits the Strand to read and answer questions (we’ve got a bucket load). If the royals ain’t your cup of tea, there’s always the Lincoln Center Festival, which starts today with two shortish traditional operas, Tipsy Concubine and Farewell My Concubine, from the Contemporary Legend Theater of Taiwan, starring Wei Hai Ming—basically their Kiri Te Kanawa.

[Tina Brown, the Strand Bookstore, 828 Broadway at 12th Street, 7 p.m., www.strandbooks.com; Contemporary Legend Theater of Taiwan, Rose Theater, Lincoln Center, 8 p.m., www.lincolncenter.com.]
