In anticipation of former EPA head Christie Whitman’s testimony about the air at Ground Zero, the Rudy Giuliani campaign pushed back against her over her accusations that the former mayor prevented her from enforcing safety standards at Ground Zero.
In response to Whitman's claim, the Giuliani campaign pointed out this clip of Whitman claiming the air around Ground Zero was safe to breathe just days after the terrorist attacks in 2001.
Whitman's current charge against Giuliani was made in a television interview and she'll be testifying in front of Congress today.
The Giuliani campaign is also circulating a collection of statements in which she reassured the public after the attacks that there was no need for concern about the quality of air and water in the area around Ground Zero.
