Lines for the Trough

Re “Some Democrats Have Second Thoughts About Lobbying Reform” [May 21]:

Representative Joe Baca (D-Calif.) complained that having to wait two years after leaving Congress before joining the lobbying trough was “not democracy” and “un-American”: “If you’re not wealthy, what are you going to do … sit out?”

How about going out and looking for a real job like other Americans do!

This reveals how incapable Congress is at solving its own problems. A caucus leader seems unable to comprehend how foolish and revealing his own words are. We now understand why this Congressman ran for office.
