More old movie stars! Show-tune fans are utterly aflutter over the revival of Gypsy, starring Patti LuPone and directed by Arthur Laurents, at the New York City Center! Ms. LuPone (Pal Joey) plays Rose, a stage mother that puts Dina Lohan into context. Our Big-Cheese Editor pops a cough drop …. Meanwhile, for those of you who only know Alan Arkin from last year’s sleeper hit, Little Miss Sunshine, it’s back to Bryant Park for 1967’s Wait Until Dark (coincidentally, also when they’ll start the movie!). This is the one where the lovely Audrey Hepburn stars as a blind lady terrorized by thugs in her affordable Village apartment. These days, of course, handicapped people are not allowed in the Village.

[Gypsy premiere, New York City Center, West 55th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, now through July 28, www.nycitycenter.org; Wait Until Dark, Bryant Park, 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue, www.bryantpark.org.]
