Ann Lewis, one of Hillary Clinton’s closest aides, held a private meeting in Manhattan this morning with some of the local elected officials that the campaign plans to mobilize in the battle for the nomination, according to a person with first hand knowledge of the event.
“Electeds like me will be used as surrogates in NY and elsewhere to spread the gospel,” according to my source.
In attendance were Congressman Jerry Nadler, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Assembly members Jonathan Bing, Danny O’Donnell, Linda Rosenthal and Micah Kellner, along with other local party officials.
They ate deli muffins, bagels and were fed what the source called Lewis' "rosy picture” of the campaign.
