The only thing scarier than Rudy Giuliani in a sundress is … a good summer beach thriller! While we ourselves wish we could start The Diana Chronicles all over again, those who bake in the sun often like something tingly, and today at the Borders on Park Avenue—the one where Italian tourists always seem to be wandering around looking for books with giant photos of flowers—there’s a “Thrillerfest Conference,” gathering a gaggle of authors of the genre in one gripping room. You got your Andrew Gross, your Timothy Hallinan, your Philip Hawley Jr. and your Sean Chercover. Authors of a different kind will be at Books of Wonder in Chelsea, where Jane Lovascio reads from a book based on the adventures of her two dogs—Casey, a Jack Russell Terrier, and Bella, a Teacup Yorkie. Yes, the dogs will be there, too.
