I ran into a limping and hurried Jimmy Connors racing down the stairs from the player's lounge en route to the men's locker room.

I asked him what color his sweater vest would be for Andy Roddick's afternoon match today at Ashe. (Connors has had an odd obsession with vests in his time coaching at the Open, varying between green and yellow.) "I don't know if I'll wear it," he said, a little breathlessly. "It's a little hot."
