9:30 a.m. Interfaith volunteers and Habitat for Humanity-NYC will build affordable homes at 26 Sherlock Place in Brooklyn.

10 a.m. Speaker Christine Quinn will headline the West Side tenants conference at Fordham University Law School, 140 West 62nd Street.

10:30 a.m. A groundbreaking for the renovation of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument Plaza will be held at 89th Street and Riverside Drive.

10:30 a.m. Congressman Jose Serrano will keynote the SEIU Local 32BJ conference at 101 Sixth Avenue between Grand and Watts streets.

11:30 a.m. Presidential candidate Ron Paul will greet supporters outside the Grand Central Hyatt, 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue.

Noon. Brooklyn Harley-Davidson and the Brooklyn Cyclones will host a motorcycle ride to benefit breast cancer services at the Maimonides Cancer Center at the Brooklyn Harley-Davidson, 3449 Fort Hamilton Parkway.

Noon. District Attorney Charles Hynes will host a Stop the Violence charity event at Madd Fun LLC, 303 Stanley Avenue between Hinsdale and Snediker avenues.

1 p.m. Families United for Racial and Economic Equality will protest the Downtown Brooklyn development project at P.S. 67, 51 St. Edward’s Street off Myrtle Avenue.

Sunday

9 a.m. Friends of Windsor Terrace Library will host a Toy Drive until 5 p.m. Drop off toys for donation at 160 East 5th Street in Brooklyn.

11 a.m. The Hispanic Columbus Day Parade will begin at 44th Street and proceed up Fifth Avenue to 86th Street.

1 p.m. Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn will host a Walkathon protesting the Atlantic Yards project. Registration begins at Freddy’s Bar, 6th Avenue and Dean Street. At 3 p.m., the Grand Marshall will lead a march to Grand Army Plaza. An afterparty will be held at Soda Bar, Vanderbilt Avenue and St. Marks Avenue.

3 p.m. An open house at the Obama for America NY Headquarters will be held at 139 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.

Monday

7 p.m. Dave Pollack, co-chair of the state’s Democratic Committee, will speak at the Upper West Side Democratic Presidential Forum at Symphony Space, 95th Street and Broadway.

7:15 p.m. Community Board 10 will meet at 1305 86th Street in Brooklyn.
