Broadway Strikers To Resume Talks on Saturday

Broadway producers and the Local One stagehands union will return to the negotiation table on Saturday, according to NY1 and BroadwayWorld.com.

The meeting will be the first since negotiations broke-down last weekend, prompting Local One to strike, closing over two-dozen Broadway theatres.

Producers want the minimum number of stagehands per production to be flexible because they say they’re often forced to hire more stagehands than needed The union says it is concerned over job security and that producers will try to spread workers too thin.

Aaron Sorkin’s much anticipated The Farnsworth Invention was supposed to open today, but most of Broadway will remain dark for the rest of the week.
