The Jets’ fresh-faced, weak-armed quarterback Chad Pennington was benched for yesterday’s game–for the second week in a row. So maybe it’s lucky that legendary hurler Dan Marino might come to town.
A source told The Observer that Mr. Marino has made repeat visits to Manhattan House, the block-wide condo conversion on East 66th Street. (He’d be a more masculine buyer than Grace Kelly, a tenant in the building decades ago.)
Mr. Marino retired from the Miami Dolphins in 1999, so even if he bought a New York condo, alas, it’s not quite likely he’d join up with the Jets. But if he wants to get back into shape, Manhattan House has a rooftop “luxury gym”–but also “results-oriented spa service in our therapy room or in the comfort of your own private residence.”
Two years ago, his 19,500-square-foot gated Florida mansion was put on the market for $15.9 million.
