Wikinomics Author Sells Another Book About Mass Collaboration to Portfolio

Donald Tapscott has sold a new book to Adrian Zackheim at Portfolio, an imprint of Penguin Group that specializes in business books.

Mr. Tapscott, who runs the technology and business think-tank New Paradigm, published his last book—2006’s bestselling Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything—with Portfolio as well.

According to Mr. Zackheim, the publisher of Portfolio, the new book will come out in early 2009, and it will pick up where Wikinomics left off. The deal was brokered by Wesley Neff of the Leigh Bureau.

Mr. Neff could not be reached for comment, and Mr. Zackheim declined to disclose any details about the auction that led up to the deal, including the size of the advance Mr. Tapscott will receive.
