McCain Gains on Rudy in Electability, But Loses Ground in Home State

John McCain’s argument to voters that he–and not Rudy Giuliani–is the Republican candidate best equipped to beat Hillary Clinton sounds somewhat more credible this afternoon, with the release of some encouraging poll numbers.

Even though Rudy Giuliani is still outpolling everyone in Florida (no change there), in a national match-up from Survey USA, McCain would beat Clinton in Virginia. In Minnesota, she still wins, but he comes closest to beating her.

Then again, another poll out this afternoon shows Giuliani ahead of the senator in his home state of Arizona.
