$68.8 million spent on ’07 legislative races

2007 has earned its place as the most expensive year for legislative race in history, beating out 2003 totals by over $11 million. A total of $68.8 million was spent between primary and general campaigns this year, as opposed to $57.1 million in 2003, the next most expensive year.

The results: Democrats picked up one State Senate seat, and the Republicans gained two Assembly seats.
