10:30 a.m. Anti-hunger groups launch new online system to help volunteers match their schedules with an anti-hunger program or soup kitchen near them at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, 296 Ninth Ave.

1 p.m. Coney Island Polar Bear Club takes annual New Year’s swim in Atlantic Ocean, fundraising event to help support terminally ill children; Stillwell Avenue and the Boardwalk, Coney Island, Brooklyn.

12 p.m. City of Yonkers swears in mayor and re-elected council members at the Riverfront Library, One Larkin Center.
