Liza Minnelli collapsed in the midst of a live performance last night in Sweden. She had traveled to the Scandinavian nation to put on a Christmas show, but after singing only a few songs, the beloved icon fell off the side of the stage. Luckily for Ms. Minnelli, 61, a technician caught her fall, preventing any serious injuries, according to a local promoter named Michael Silfverskiold. “It was a terrible situation…You could see she was in pain,” he added of the ordeal. Apparently the police were called to the venue after feisty members of the audience began to demand refunds. Though it probably gave the Academy Award-winning entertainer a start, she was discharged from the hospital this morning and is en route back to the United States.
