Off-Broadway Frankenstein Closing, Tour Canceled

Frankenstein, the Off-Broadway musical competing with Mel Brooks’ monstrous new production Young Frankenstein on Broadway, will close on Dec. 9. The producers previously said they were working on plans for a national tour, according to Playbill.

Frankenstein, the Off-Broadway musical adapted from Mary Shelley’s novel, will play its final performance at 37 Arts on Dec. 9 at 3 PM after 70 performances, including 25 previews.

An original cast recording will be recorded in the weeks following the closing; the disc will be released in 2008.
