Wright Reportedly Set to Retire

Democrats would, naturally, like to pick up his seat, but it would be a tough fight under any circumstances, given the 48th district’s Republican lean.

“I think it’s a Republican seat," one Democratic lawmaker told me, "And now that Eliot isn’t so popular, I’m not sure what the argument is to vote against your inclination and elect a Democrat. I’d be surprised if we can win that seat.”
