Bloomberg on America’s Prestige Problem

Michael Bloomberg sometimes criticizes other politicians without being terribly specific.

But yesterday’s press conference, he articulated exactly what he thinks caused America’s reputation to decline internationally.

“I think it’s very clear,” Bloomberg said. “We don’t stand up and act the way a superpower should.”

He added that America should “be leading the environmental movement around the world,” preventing tragedies “in Darfur and places like that,” and “signing the international contract or agreement to help stop smoking around the world.”
