COLUMBIA, S.C.—Keyshawn Johnson, who is in town to help out Hillary Clinton, was eating at the Liberty Tap Room & Grill this afternoon with friends and Clinton staffers.
“I think she’s the best candidate,” said Johnson, who played football for the New York Jets in the Chad Cascadden era. “I’ve known her for years.”
Apparently, Johnson sat on a race-relations-in-sports panel organized by Bill Clinton in 2002 and has been loyal to the Clintons ever since.
Asked about Barack Obama’s widespread popularity here in South Carolina, the usually outspoken Johnson said, “Hillary’s my candidate,” then returned to his lunch.
