Spitzer Pays Respect to Legislators in State of State

I’m still here in the back of the Assembly chambers in Albany listening to Eliot Spitzer’s State of the State speech, where he is giving plenty of shout-outs to legislators.

So far, the governor has mentioned by name: Assembly members Vito Lopez, Darryl Towns, Felix Ortiz, and state Senators Jeff Klein and Dale Volper (and possibly more that I’m missing).

That’s a big change from his inaugural speech a year ago, in which he derided Albany as a “government [that] stands still in the face of great challenge and inevitable change.”

It looks another sign of Spitzer’s new attitude towards getting along in the capitol.
