I’m still here in the back of the Assembly chambers in Albany listening to Eliot Spitzer’s State of the State speech, where he is giving plenty of shout-outs to legislators.
So far, the governor has mentioned by name: Assembly members Vito Lopez, Darryl Towns, Felix Ortiz, and state Senators Jeff Klein and Dale Volper (and possibly more that I’m missing).
That’s a big change from his inaugural speech a year ago, in which he derided Albany as a "government [that] stands still in the face of great challenge and inevitable change."
It looks another sign of Spitzer’s new attitude towards getting along in the capitol.
