During State Senate testimony this morning, Patrick Foye, the downstate chairman of the Empire State Development Corporation, said the state is "suspending" the sale of a parcel north of the Jacob Javits Center. The parcel is bounded by 39th and 40th streets and 11th and 12th avenues.
The would-be sale proved controversial from the time the Spitzer administration announced it. My colleague Eliot Brown, who covered the hearing this morning, will have more on the suspension this afternoon. He has written about the controversy surrounding the sale.
